Osteopathy concentrates on the musculo-skeletal system, (that is the bones, muscles, ligaments
and connective tissues of the body) and the way in which this inter-relates with the body as a
whole.
Osteopaths diagnose and treat faults that occur because of injury, stress, and disease to
enable the musculo-skeletal system to work as efficiently as possible, allowing the body to
restore itself to as normal a function as possible.
After treatment, Osteopaths can advise on maintaining a realistic level of health. For example,
remedial exercises to adjust posture, or advice on diet can be given as part of a personal
health care programme.
